How to provide proof of decommissioning for trade-in units

To participate in the SEGGER Trade-In Program, you must properly decommission your old J-Link, J-Trace, or Flasher unit and provide documented proof of decommissioning.

The following guidelines explain how to properly decommission your unit.

Proof of decommissioning for J-Link and J-Trace units

  1. Remove the cover of your J-Link or J-Trace unit.
  2. Drill a hole through the MCU as shown in the pictures below. Be careful not to damage the serial number.

 

  1. Scratch in the date of decommission as shown in the picture below. If you need to decommission more than one unit, mark the units as 1/2 and 2/2 (for two units).

  1. Take pictures of both sides of the unit as shown in step 2, and send them to sales@segger.com.

Proof of decommissioning for Flasher units

  1. Remove the cover of your Flasher unit.
  2. Drill a hole through the circuit board as shown in the pictures below. Be careful not to damage the serial number.

 

  1. Scratch in the date of decommission as shown in the picture below. If you need to decommission more than one unit, mark the units as 1/2 and 2/2 (for two units).
