SEGGER emFile expands support for Alliance Memory serial NAND flash devices

SEGGER has expanded the device support of its emFile file system to include additional AS5F serial NAND flash devices from Alliance Memory.

The following Alliance Memory serial NAND flash devices are now supported by emFile:

  • AS5F31G04SND
  • AS5F32G04SND
  • AS5F32G04SNDA
  • AS5F34G04SND
  • AS5F34G04SNDA
  • AS5F34G04SNDB
  • AS5F38G04SND

emFile's Flash Translation Layer for NAND Flash enables the file system to efficiently read and write data on NAND flash devices. It handles NAND-specific requirements internally, including bad-block management, wear leveling, and error correction, while presenting the memory to the file system as an array of logical sectors.

The Flash Translation Layer supports both SLC and MLC NAND flash as well as parallel and serial interfaces, allowing a wide range of NAND flash devices to be integrated into embedded systems.

A complete list of devices supported by emFile is available here.
