Single Product License
License Model suited for
- Companies using project based budget
- Companies with few different products
"Product" means the end result of a manufacturing process which is offered to the marketplace under a certain name or number.
A product in development is a new product, if
a) the product incorporates a significant hardware and/or functional modification,
b) a new revision of the original product has been assigned a new product name or number
Example:
- J-Link EDU is one product
- J-Link is a second product
- J-Link Pro is a third product.
Product Family License
License Model suited for
- Companies with many variations of a product
- Companies using product platforms with similar function
Product family definition:
"Product Family" means a group of products with similar functionality, identical purposes and similar target market.
An additional license is required if
a) the product family incorporates a significnt functional modification
b) the new revision of a product family has been assigned a new name
Example:
- J-Link Ultra, J-Link, J-Link EDU , J-Link Pro are one product family
- Flasher ARM, Flasher STM8 belong to a second family.
Single Developer License

- Companies using company or group based budget
- Small development teams

- Fixed Compiler and CPU family within this license

CPU
License Model suited for
- Companies with many variations of a product
- Companies using product platforms with similar CPU
CPU definition
A "CPU" requires a second license, if a different compiler has to be used.
Exception: Cortex-M is different from ARM7/9/Cortex-R/Cortex-A
