Using J-Link with RVDS (Realview developer suite by ARM Ltd.)

Step 1
Start the Real View debugger:

Select File\Connection\Connect to Target
Step 3
In the "Connection Control" Dialog use the right mouse click on the first item and select "Add/Remove/Edit Devices"

Now select "Add DLL" to browse for the J-Link RDI Dll.
Step 5
Now select the DLL and klick the "Open" Button to add the J-Link RDI DLL.
Step 6
After adding the Dll, an additional Dialog opens and asks for description: (These values are voluntary, if you do not want change them, just click "OK") Use the following values and click on "OK" Short Name : JLinkRDI Description: J-Link ARM RDI Interface Now click "OK"

Back in the “RDI Target List” Dialog
Select "JLink-RDI" and click "Configure". For configuration details please refer to the Configuration chapter.
Step 8
Click the "OK" button in the configuration dialog. Now close the "RDI Target List" Dialog. Be sure your target hardware is already connected to J-Link.
Step 9
In the "Connection control", expand the "JLink RDI" and select the ARM_0 Processor.
Close the "Connection Control" Window.
Step 10
Now the RealView Debugger is connected to the J-Link.
Step 11
A project or an image is needed for debugging. After downloading, J-Link is used to debug the target.

Limitations

Since RVDS 3.1 removed RDI support, J-Link RDI will not work with RVDS 3.1
