In order to be able to use the J-Link RDI software including
flash breakpoints, you need a license key from SEGGER. Please send an
email including the J-Link serial number to sales@segger.com
to receive a 30 days trial license. The steps below show how to obtain
and install the license (sample debugger: IAR). Step 3, 4 and 5 are different
on different debuggers, such as axd.
| Download the
RDI software. |
Unzip the files to a folder on your hard drive e.g.
c:\Segger\JLinkRDI. Important:
The IAR program folder (normally C:\Program Files\IAR Systems\Embedded
Workbench 4.0\arm\bin) contains a version of JLinkARM.dll. Please
overwrite this older version with the new version in the zip file.
|
| Start the IAR Embedded Workbench. |
| Open the sample workspace for your CPU. |
| Choose Project|Options from the Menu and the Options
dialog box pops up. Browse to the JLinkRDI.dll and click OK. |
 |
| Choose RDI|configure from the IAR Menu and the RDI
configuration dialog box appears on your screen. Click on the "License"
button. |
 |
| The RDI license management dialog box shows up. |
 |
| If you do not have a license, click on the "Display
serial number" button. Copy the serial number and send it to sales@segger.com.
The license key will be sent to your shortly. Close the debugger and
wait for the email, including the license key. After reception of the
license key, start with step 3. |
 |
| If you already received a license key from SEGGER,
click on the "Add license" button. Enter your license key(s) and click
OK. |
 |
The RDI license management dialog box displays the
licenses. Click OK and you return to the RDI configuration dialog
box.
You successfully installed a valid license for the RDI and Flash breakpoints
feature. You should now configure
your system for Flash breakpoints. |
